Vacation Bible School

This summer tradition for children from 5 years old to 5th grade to will take place daily at our church 6:00-8:30 pm, from Sunday June 24 through Thursday the 28th.

The theme this year is “SonRise National Park.” The kids will be awestruck by snow capped mountains, thundering waterfalls, wildflower meadows, and amazing animals. As they explore, they'll learn the most important survival skill of all: they can always depend on Jesus and his promises of true peace, love and hope.

As is our custom, the VBS will be done jointly with the Whitehall and Claybanks UMC's.

There will be an adult component as well, led by Rev. Gayle Berntsen, called “The House that John Built,” that will center on United Methodist theology.

Fine Arts Day Camp

Montague United Methodist Church is pleased to announce a new program, a Fine Arts Day-Camp. It will run from 9am to 3pm, Monday through Friday, June 11-15, at the Montague United Methodist Church, and is for youth who will be in grades 6-9 in the fall.

The Fine Arts Day-Camp will encompass singing, movement, text, art and bells/chimes, using classic texts from hymns and the psalms. It is open to the community.  The program will identify and explore such emotions as courage, peace, love, trust & fear, and will encourage the students to relate those emotions to a Psalm. Each student, taught by guest teachers, will express his/her self by movement, acrylic on canvas (art), singing and text (acting) and performing a program at the end of the week.

Registration fees are $20.00 per student /$40.00 per family. Limited scholarships are available.  For questions, or to register, contact Beth Adkins, MUMC music coordinator at (706) 994-0205, or roarsbeth@yahoo.com.

Church College Scholarship Application

The Education Committee of the Montague United Methodist Church provides support for the youth of the church in various ways. One way is through the provision of scholarship dollars for students who choose to pursue post-secondary educational opportunities. The amount of scholarship awards will be sufficient to sustain only a very small amount of the cost for college tuition, room and board or books and supplies. Nonetheless, it is our hope that the financial support that is available will demonstrate to each recipient that the church supports his/her pursuit of career goals and remains supportive of each recipient beyond his/her high school career.

Applicants must fill out the requested information in detail and return the application form to the church office no later than June 15th.  More information and the application are available for download below.

New Online Giving Program

Picture
Montague UMC is pleased to announce a convenient new way to make your regular offerings. With our new electronic giving program, you can easily set up a recurring giving schedule or make one-time contributions.  We encourage you to set up a schedule of recurring contributions. It’s convenient for you and provides much-needed consistency for our church. If you are currently giving on a weekly basis, you will no longer need to write out 52 checks a year or prepare 52 envelopes. Even when travel, illness or other circumstances prevent you from attending services, our church will continue to receive your contributions on an uninterrupted basis.  Please consider "Online Giving" and use the button above to set up your online donations.
